A message from a mentor
My friend Craig won the Pulitzer
My friend named his son after me
Sayer Theiss, born 1/11/08
He is the best friend I've ever had that I've yet to meet!
My brother and I won the US Championships(twice)
I've been a lawn bowler since I was 12. I got to be partners with my dad and grandfather for many years. Dad and I even represented the division once in the US Championships. In 1996 after my partner(and father) moved out of the division, my brother Bob and I began playing together. That year we won the US Championships. We've played together now in 6. We won twice and came in second or tied for second 3 other times. This has been a great game to play!
2004 in Sun City AZ, tied for second
A guy named Jim took me in
In 1997 a help wanted ad appeared in The Meadville Tribune for a part-time photographer for the paper. I hurriedly got my resume and shabby portfolio together and got it in just before the deadline. I got a call a couple days later from Jim Stefanucci. We had never met before, but he had seen a couple of my photographs that were entered in a local photo contest. During my interview, we hit it off and he offered me a job. This is without a doubt the greatest thing that has ever happened to me professionally. Jim has not only been a mentor, but a great friend and colleague. He leads by example and I'm quite lucky to be working along side him and to call him my friend.
Our two favorite guys
Java and Lil'bro came to live with us when we bought our first house in 2001. Dogs are my favorite kind of people!
A met a girl named Sam and we're making our life together
My high School art teacher told me she wasn't going to put up with my shit!
Possibly the best thing that could've ever happened to me, past being born, was when Ms. Moore swore at me in class. I found this moment to be a turning point as I then began to pay attention in art class and found a good friend in Chris Theiss and actually found a place where I belonged. This moment put me into the arts, despite my lack of ability and understanding, I used my drive to succeed and energy to work hard to become someone who now makes their living in a creative field.
When I hear arguments about heaven and the afterlife I sort of smile. Damned if this ain't the best thing there is! If its not, man whatever is to come is going to be something else for sure!
